Some may remember the original Purple Rain songbook that came out in 1984 which also contained notation for two additional songs: God and Father's Song. (One can sometimes locate a copy of that songbook on line and it can fetch some money.) Unfortunately God and Father's Song do not appear on this collection. But for a reissue not bad at all. The song book does have piano, bass, and guitar notation for the material form the original album release in 1984, can't complain. It would be interesting to see a more thorough compilation that included the material released on the recent Purple Rain reissue: a 3 CD set assimilating unreleased material from the Purple Rain studio session. For the price the song book is a good deal.
